Sarah Elwood

Postdoc

Sarah joined the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics as a Postdoc specialising in the generation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). She is working with the Richard Wade-Martins Lab and collaborating with wider Oxford Parkinson’s Disease Centre colleagues.

Sarah’s previous role was at the James and Lillian Martin Stem Cell Centre, where she reprogrammed T Cells from Alzheimer’s Disease patients into iPSCs.

Sarah’s undergraduate degree was in Biochemistry with Medical Biochemistry at the University of Leeds, before completing a Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine (Neuroscience) at the University of Sheffield. Sarah obtained her PhD from the University of Plymouth, where she studied glial sensitivity to ischaemia and cell death mechanisms
